This Is Fishers
The last major project of the semester for Innovations was the community partnership project. I chose to work with the Public Relations department to help create a blog, which I found interesting because I thought that being apart of creating a digital platform that would live on forever was pretty cool. In this project I had the pleasure of working with Casey Cawthon (Assistant Director of Public Relations) and Ashley Elrod (Director of Public Relations) along side with fellow students Cameron Miller and Maddie Halkyard. We were able to begin working on a prototype for the blog called "This Is Fishers". We began this project with nothing but an idea: to create a blog that showcases the lives of the citizens of Fishers.Over the course of this project we collaborated with both Casey and Ashley in order to develop ideas about both the aesthetics and functionality of the blog. I personally helped in coming up with future promotional planning and the creation of the template blog. One of our biggest obstacles over the course of the partnership was timing. It was very difficult trying to align all of our schedules in order to set up meeting times, but we all tried to be flexible and things worked out. Throughout the process I was able to gain better communication skills and I also learned how to accept and apply constructive criticism.
I encourage you to visit our wire-frame blog in order to get a better idea of what the website could look like. A big thank you to both Casey and Ashley for their feedback and flexibility in working on this project.
